Abstract
The administration of general anaesthesia for Caesarean section is described in a patient with an established biochemical diagnosis of acute intermittent porphyria. The technique used did not precipitate an acute exacerbation of the disease. Drugs associated with obstetric care are considered in the context of their use in porphyria. Keywords
