Abstract
The rat oviduct is fibrinolytically active and contains an activator of plasminogen. Fibrinolytic activity is localized to the epithelium of the mucosa and to the endothelium of small vessels, usually arteries. Fibrinolytic activity is present in the mucosa from the early postnatal period and remains high throughout the reproductive life. Previous observations of fibrinolytic activity related to epithelial cells indicated a coincidence to proliferative or degenerative stages. In contrast, fibrinolytic activity of the mucosa of the rat oviduct is related to an epithelium with low renewal rate. This publication has 6 references indexed in Scilit:
