Abstract
The settling behavior of the planular larvae of Chrysaora quinquecirrha was examine in the laboratory, using a variety of substrates, depths and textures. The larvae showed definite preference for lower surfaces, certain heights above the bottom, and to a lesser extent for roughened surfaces, and were positively phototropic. Ecological implicatior of such behavior are discussed. Keywords
