Abstract
Attempts to eliminate undesireable depressive side effects of antihistamine drugs by combining them with central nervous system stimulating xanthines have usually failed due to low ioni-zation of xanthines. Dramamine (beta-dimethylaminoethyl ben-zohydryl ether 8- chlorotheophyllinate) represents a solution of this problem since 8-chlorotheophylline has a sufficiently high ionization to form a stable salt.
