Abstract
Comparison of three times of application of paraquat which were (a) at ground crack, (b) when 30–50% of shoots had emerged with earliest emerged 5 cm tall, and (c) after 100% of shoots had emerged and most were 7.5 cm tall showed that delaying application did not result in significant (P = 0.05) yield reductions of Kennebec cultivar potatoes. Successively later application, however, did result in a trend to lower yields as application was delayed, and caution should be used in delaying application beyond the recommended time of application.
