Abstract
A model considering a band, a band, and a variable hybridization is developed here to explain the magnetism of actinide metals or impurities in transition metals. The model justifies and improves the description of magnetism in the series of actinide metals, compared to the previous model of a and a virtual bound state. The origin and a rough estimation of the hybridization are also discussed for actinides in transition-metal-based alloys or in compounds.
