THROMBUS CALCIFICATION IN THE INFERIOR VENA CAVA

Abstract
Four cases of children with calcified thrombi of the inferior vena cava are reported. Two children were asymptomatic with respect to this process and 2 of the children died from related diseases. The characteristic bullet-shaped calcification adjacent to the vertebral column in the right upper abdomen, which was originally described by Singleton and Rosenberg in 1961,7 was demonstrated in each case and the diagnosis in 2 cases was confirmed by inferior venacavagraphy. Two cases were confirmed at postmortem examination.
