Abstract
The application of the theory of oriented fluids to the behavior of dilute suspensions is considered. Constitutive equations for an oriented fluid with deformable but noninteracting substructure are given. The problem of a dilute suspension of viscoelastic spheres in steady laminar flow is solved within the framework of the theory. Keywords
