Abstract
A network MPEG camera which can be directly connected to a network for real-time digital video transmission has been developed. The camera works under the TCP/IP protocol, and accepts remote control commands from PCs. This camera realizes transmission of various bit rates to support from low bandwidth public phone line to common PC LAN. The bit rate of the MPEG video bit stream can be changed even during the data transmission and encoding. Keywords
