Abstract
Power plant response to load changes is a continuing subject of interest to operating management in power systems. This paper is a two-part report of a survey on power plant response made by an IEEE Working Group. Part I covers results and analyses of answers to questions on system load characteristics and operating practices. Part II covers results and analyses to answers on prime mover characteristics. A number of curves, scatter plots, and bar charts are presented showing the results of the survey by various size and type groupings. Appendixes I and II, giving the questionnaire and the tabulated summary of questionnaire replies from the completed replies of 128 systems, are not included.1Keywords
