Abstract
The analysis and the comparison between different planar Fresnel lenses has been carried out numerically using the beam-propagation method. This technique allows one to evaluate relevant parameters, such as focal point, spot size, efficiency, paraxial and wide-angle diffraction effects, taking into account the diffraction produced by the refractive-index discontinuities. Comparisons with some of the published experimental results are presented. Keywords
