Abstract
Phosphorus-31 and carbon-13 chemical shifts as well as 31P - 13C and 31P - 29Si coupling constants have been obtained from a series of ten N -trim ethylsilyl-triorganophosphine imines. The influence of alkyl substituents on the phosphorus-31 chemical shifts in these and a variety of other com pounds is explained by a mechanism of intram olecular coordination of the β-CH3 group to phosphorus using d-orbitals.Keywords
