Abstract
THE prosthetics of ileostomy is of particular importance not only because a satisfactory prosthesis is indispensable for an active and social life but also because the number of ileostomies is increasing rapidly. The latest development in the prosthetics of ileostomy has opened up the possibility of a purely prosthetic management of colostomy without the burden and risks of irrigation.The first successful ileostomy appliance was invented by A.
