Abstract
In order to study the dynamic behavior of conoscopic images with high precision and high efficiency, we constructed a conoscope observation system using a CCD (charge coupled device) camera and an image processor. We can analyze biaxiality and apparent tilt angle by means of a homeotropic cell operated at 0.1 Hz. We discuss the result obtained in an antiferroelectric liquid crystal, 4-1-(methylheptyloxycarbonyl) phenyl 4'-octyloxy-biphenyl-4-carboxylate (MHPOBC).Keywords
