Abstract
An inexpensive demand feeder was evaluated for rearing blue tilapia (Tilapia aurea) in floating cages. The feeder was tested in a farm pond over a 10-week period to estimate labor savings and to compare production of fish fed by demand feeder and fish fed by hand to satiation. Fish fed by demand feeders gained an average of 72% more weight than hand-fed fish. Feed conversion and survival rates were not significantly different between the two feeding methods. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
