Sequential Testing of the Equality of Two Survival Distributions Using the Modified Savage Statistic

Abstract
Sequential procedures based on the modified Savage statistic are proposed for testing the equality of 2 survival distributions when observations are singly censored. Asymptotic properties, including expected sample sizes and power against contiguous exponential scale shift alternatives, are examined. Comparison is made with procedures based on a modified Mantel-Haenszel statistic (Muenz et al., 1977).
