Participatory research, environmental health education and the politics of method

Abstract
This article describes a 3 year funded project on “Action Research and Adolescents' Perceptions of Environment and Health” in which the researchers work with a group of adolescents. This action research project investigates the role of the group in local environmental and health issues. A number of contextualized methodological issues concerning group identity, ownership, control and empowerment are discussed.
