Abstract
Further data on the distribution of the mean geostrophic west-wind over Australia are presented. Profiles of the 200-mb geostrophic west-wind for the southern and northern hemispheres are compared. The deduction is made that, for the respective seasons, there is no essential difference in hemispherical location and intensity of the jet stream between hemispheres, although variations occur at certain longitudes.
