Abstract
An integral approximation of the space factor of a nonuniformly spaced linear array is derived from a geometrical representation of the summation involved. At a given direction, the array is divided into stationary phase zones and destructive interference zones. The integral representation of the space factor is then evaluated approximately for the two zone types. The major characteristics of nonuniform spacing and the method of pattern evaluation are illustrated by means of two examples. Keywords
