Abstract
The electromagnetic signal from a nuclear explosion is computed using the same method as presented by Kompaneets. It is shown that some of Kompaneets' approximations are incorrect and lead to the wrong shape for the radiated signal. His work neglects the important first half-cycle of the signal and hence predicts an initial deflection in the wrong direction. A more accurate solution is presented. Keywords
