Abstract
The radiative decays of the charged and neutral ρ meson are discussed assuming that the decay vertices are dominated by the low-mass ππ and ωπ intermediate states. The transitions ρπ+γ, ρ0π++π+γ, ρ0π0+π0+γ, ρ+,π+,+π0+γ and ρ0η+γ are considered in detail. The probability for the emission of a photon with energy exceeding 15 MeV in the process ρ0π++π+γ relative to the 2π decay is found to be 1.7×102, indicating that the (2π+γ) decay width is comparable or greater than the (π+γ) one. The internal bremsstrahlung and direct emission processes are included in the calculation of the various partial widths.
