Radiative Lifetimes and Ultraviolet Branching Fractions for Resonance Lines of Coii

Abstract
Radiative lifetime measurements are combined with experimental branching fraction measurements to give 28 absolute oscillator strengths for ultraviolet lines of Co II. The radiative lifetimes are determined by laser-induced fluorescence measurements, and the branching fractions are measured using a high-resolution grating spectrometer and an optically thin hollow cathode discharge. The oscillator strengths establish the absolute scale for relative absorption oscillator strength measurements made with the high-sensitivity absorption spectroscopy experiment at the University of Wisconsin.Keywords
