Abstract
Three cases of achondroplasia with neurological complications are described with reference to anatomical causes. Hydrocephalus was present in all 3 but there was no platybasia and the foramen magnum was normal. Cauda equina compression in 2 was traceable to multiple massive intervertebral disc protrusions. The 3d had a spastic tetraplegia with subluxation of the 2d cervical vertebra on the 3d. In adult achondroplasia the bodies of the lumbar vertebrae are concave with wide intervertebral disc spaces. Keywords
