Abstract
A modification to the conventional mode of operation of a mercury-wetted reed relay high-voltage pulse generator is described which permits the production of nanosecond rise time pulses with operating frequencies of up to 1 kHz and applied voltages of up to 10 kV. The modification involves the use of two relays in series, one being used in a manner analogous to that of a fixed spark gap, and the other as a control switch actuated by a DC solenoid. Keywords
