Abstract
This paper presents a theory on the magnetizing process of magnetic films with columnar structure. Theoretical calculation has been carried out using a model in which small magnetic cylinders form an infinite two-dimensional array with hexagonal symmetry. Experiments have also been done on technical magnetization curves for iron films prepared by an anodic oxidation method. The experimental resuits could be well interpreted in terms of the present theory. Keywords
