Abstract
Five strains of Entamoeba histolytica isolated from man and capable of growth at room temperature were tested for virulence by inoculation into the caeca of young rats. The results showed all strains to have a low infectivity and none produced caecal ulceration. Ten laboratory strains of E. histolytica were examined for growth at 25 °C, but none were established at this low temperature. Keywords
