A Performance Prediction Method for Unstalled, Two-Dimensional Diffusers

Abstract
A method based on turbulent boundary layer integral theory is presented for the prediction of performance in two-dimensional, straight-center-line diffusers which contain, at most, small amounts of stall. The method is shown to adequately predict experimental pressure recovery data from diffusers with very thin to moderately thick inlet boundary layers. An approximate method for prediction of the onset of severe stall in two-dimensional diffusers is presented, but the general problem of boundary layer separation prediction is not solved.
