Characteristics of Nursing Homes Perceived to Be Effective and Efficient

Abstract
Characteristics of nursing homes perceived to be effective and efficient by other administrators and persons in state government are compared to characteristics of most nursing homes across the nation. The facilities perceived by both other administrators and state agencies as efficient and effective had significantly more staff, were certified for more levels of care, had more beds, and high higher occupancy rates.
