Abstract
Nine cases of unilateral vocal cord paralysis with severe hoarseness combined with atrophy of the cord and asymmetry of the larynx were treated with implantation of Teflon in the paralytic vocal cord by Arnold's method. The voice quality was studied and judged by a listener-jury. After implantation the range of the voice was widened, the maximum phonation-time was remarkably prolonged and the quality of the voice improved significantly. Keywords
