Abstract
The author presents his idea on plant nutrition involving the adsorption from the atmosphere of nutrients on leaf and soil organic matter surfaces. Expts. are descr. which show how cellulosic and related materials can absorb, from the air, N and other nutrients which are carried to the soil by successive rains. The adsorption of P, Ca, NH3 and nitrate N was tested on filter paper, dried grass, jute, sisal and wood fibers. This mechanism enables the maintenance in the absence of erosion, of moderate soil fertility for an indefinite period. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
