A taxonomic revision of the genus Monanthes Haworth (Crassulaceae)

Abstract
The genus Monanthes Haworth (Crassulaceae) is critically revised. 10 species and 1 heterotypic subspecies are recognized and classified into 3 sections in this study: sect. Monanthoidea incl. M. atlantica, M. lowei, M. brachycaulos, M. minima, M. pallens, M. icterica; sect. Monanthes incl. M. polyphylla ssp. polyphylla, M. polyphylla ssp. amydros, M. muralis; sect. Sedoidea incl. M. laxiflora, M. anagensis. Keys are given for their identification, as well as descriptions for each taxon together with synonyms, distribution, a list of specimens examined and additional notes. Putative inter- and infrageneric relationships are discussed on the basis of comparative morphology. Die Gattung Monanthes Haworth (Crassulaceae) wird kritisch revidiert. In dieser Arbeit werden 10 Arten und 1 heterotypische Unterart anerkannt und in 3 Sektionen eingeteilt: Die sect. Monanthoidea mit M. atlantica, M. lowei, M. brachycaulos, M. minima, M. pallens, M. icterica; die sect. Monanthes mit M. polyphylla ssp. polyphylla, M. polyphylla ssp. amydros, M. muralis; die sect. Sedoidea mit M. laxiflora, M. anagensis. Schlüssel zu ihrer Bestimmung, wie auch Beschreibungen für jedes Taxon, zusammen mit Synonymen, Verbreitungsangaben, einer Liste der untersuchten Belege und zusätzliche Bemerkungen sind festgehalten. Mögliche inter- und infragenerische Verwandt-schaftsverhältnisse werden auf der Basis der vergleichenden Morphologie diskutiert. La revisión crítica del genero Monanthes Haworth (Crassulaceae) llevó al reconocimiento de 10 especies y una subespecie heterotípica, y a su clasificación en 3 secciones: sect. Monanthoidea, que incluye M. atlantica, M. lowei, M. brachycaulos, M. minima, M. pallens y M. icterica; sect. Monanthes, con M. polyphylla ssp. polyphylla, M. polyphylla ssp. amydros y M. muralis; y sect. Sedoidea, representada por M. laxiflora y M. anagensis. Se presentan claves de identificación y descripciones para cada taxon, asi como su sinonimia, distribución geográfica, listas de especimenes examinados y comentarios adicionales. Las posibles relaciones inter y infragenéricas fueron discutidas con bases en la morfología comparativa.
