Abstract
A positive and a negative branch confocal unstable resonator with magnification |M| = 10 and with an intracavity spatial filter have been applied to a high-gain short-pulse u.v. pre-ionized XeCl laser. The performance of both resonators has been investigated and compared. Keywords
