Abstract
A simple extension of the classical over-barrier model for electron capture by highly ionised slow projectiles is proposed to describe the angular momentum distribution of the captured electron. The model predicts the average angular momentum and, for sufficiently narrow/distributions, the most probable l value. The authors find reasonable agreement with experimental data of Dijkkamp et al. (1984).Keywords
