Roentgenologic Features of Protruded Thoracic Intervertebral Disks

Abstract
Cases (43) of protruded thoracic intervertebral disk were studied to determine the roentgenologic findings. Plain roentgenograms of the spinal column were of little value in the final diagnosis except for 5 cases in which a calcified protruded disk fragment was visible within the spinal canal. Positive contrast myelography permitted localization of the lesion in 33 of 36 cases. Two different myelographic appearances are described, one associated with central protrusion and the other with lateral protrusion of a disk.
