Abstract
In conclusion, automated telephone reminders offer a single inexpensive approach to many different problems associated with ambulatory care. Depending on the exact application, their effectiveness is equal to or better than other more expensive and time-consuming approaches for reducing costs and improving the quality of patient care. In some cases, such as medication reminders, it may be the only feasible approach to effective care.Keywords
