Abstract
With the growing interest in artistic ways of knowing, now is an opportune time for artists and educators to begin a constructive dialogue that establishes a new direction of development for the education of youth with special talents in the arts. This dialogue needs to begin with a mutual understanding of the fundamentals of artistic talent. Through collaborative efforts, educator and artist can develop effective means to seek out potential talent, determine ways to develop talent in the arts for all students, and guarantee opportunities for students with exceptional talent to reach their full potential. Keywords
