Abstract
Sulfonamide-resistantmeningococci have been recognized as a serious problem only recently. There is no evidence that such organisms are related to the military any more than to civilians or that meningococci are affected any differently by the action of sulfonamides than other bacteria. While currently there are no drugs available which eliminate the meningococcal carrier state successfully, various antibiotics, especially penicillin G, can be used for the successful treatment of individual cases. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
