Abstract
Measurements of uranium and helium content of iron meteorites have been carried on by Paneth and his collaborators over the last 25 years, but the interpretation of their measurements has varied widely. The purpose of the present note is to suggest a reinterpretation in the light of (1) our recent knowledge of the cosmic‐ray effects on meteorites and (2) the physical mechanism of meteorite creation. Keywords
