Abstract
Wistar inbred rats (150) bearing transplanted lymphoma 8 were fed pulverized purina chow containing 0.3% of 4-(p-dimethylamino-styryl) quinoline methiodide; 90 similar rats received chow containing 0.3% of 4-(p-dimethylaminostyryl) quinoline methochloride. Complete regression of the lymphoma occurred in all rats during 10-18 days treatment. No tumor recurred at the original subcutaneous site during 60 days observation. In the latter 30 days of observation, 23 rats died; approximately 50% of those surviving developed metastatic growths, all of which regressed completely after a second course of oral administration of the respective styryl quinoline for 10 days. Control rats (120) died 18-21 days after implantation of lymphoma 8.Keywords
