Abstract
It is suggested that with respect to the 5 personality traits STDCR, self-ratings give a broader picture of the individual's personality than peer-rating or test scores, since roommates tend to rate in terms of superficial kinds of behavior and in terms of stereotypes, and the scoring keys of the personality inventory yield scores which are in many cases too highly dependent on each other.
