Abstract
Some data are presented illustrating the effect of a cross-linking treatment on successive sorptions from dryness for a regenerated cellulose. The treatment affects the total amount sorbed at a given activity, the fractions sorbed in the two stages observed for small concentration increments, and the rates of sorption. The fraction sorbed in the initial stage at a particular activity is smaller if the activity has been attained after a succession of small sorptions than if it has been attained after a few larger sorptions.
