Abstract
Rhagoletis cerasf-infested cherries were irradiated when ripe with a range of doses of γ rays (0, 10, 30, 50, 100 krad). The largest dose did not damage the fruit flesh but the effects of irradiation on the pest were proportional to dose intensity. Mortality was total and almost immediate with 100 krad; at lower doses some of the larvae continued their development and reached the pupal stage. However, they were adversely affected and did not survive until the following year. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
