Abstract
The KAHLIELLIDAE fam. nov. includes all genera of the hypotrich suborder Stichotrichina, the species of which lack transverse cirri and show untwisted meridional arrangement of the somatic ventral rows. Its characteristics are of a primitive nature in comparison with those of other stichotrichine groups. Recognition of the new family involves elimination or appreciable alteration of several formerly related families, since the genera involved are redistributed.
