Three New Mutants in Aedes Mascarensis: Currant-Eye, Small-Antenna and Yellow1

Abstract
A formal genetics has been initiated for Aedes mascarensis. Three morphological mutations have been isolated and shown to have a simple genetic basis. These are as follows: currant-eye (cu), a sex-linked recessive; small-antenna (sma), and yellow (y), both of which are autosomal recessive. In addition, observations were made on mesonotal scaling pattern variations in A. mascarensis. Comments on the desirability of fostering a comparative genetics of aedine mosquitoes are given.
