Abstract
A superposition of simple physical equations allows a satisfactory, comprehensive fluid dynamic description of jet‐loop reactors in multiphase operation up to a dispersed phase hold‐up of 15%. In the case of higher concentrations, there are further interactions which are not yet included in the model description. Apart from the drag coefficient of the single‐phase jet loop, information on the particle swarm behaviour, i.e. on the slip velocity of the dispersed phase is required. Explicit formulation of the influence of the relevant geometrical parameters permits a reliable scale‐up without additional adaptation parameters. Keywords
