Abstract
The electron impact mass spectra of a large number of benzyl esters of carboxylic acids are reported. The fragmentation behaviour is discussed and the esters are divided into groups according to structure and fragmentation. For most esters benzylic cleavage with H transfer competes with simple cleavage. Keywords
