Abstract
In bottom fisheries investigations in the summer of 1949, 19 dolphin were taken incidentally. No differences were found in the length-weight relationship of males and females. All fish examined (12 females and 6 males) were sexually mature, and gonads from 6 females held an estimated avg. of 2,655,500 eggs or 252,000 eggs per lb. of fish. The stomachs contained flying fish (Cypselurus heterurus), tuna-like fish (probably Euthynnus alletteratus), and some spp. of crab, but were mostly empty. The catch by surface trolling was most effective over depths of 21 to 100 fms. A difference in form between adult males and females was also evident, largely in the shape of the heads. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
