Abstract
• Preretinal neovascularization in response to retinal vascular occlusions developed in two patients receiving treatment for systemic lupus erythematosus. In both patients, the preretinal neovascularization was asymptomatic and was discovered on routine ocular examination. One patient required bilateral peripheral ablative argon-laser therapy for florid preretinal neovascularization. This patient had severe occlusive retinal vasculitis despite serologic evidence of remission of the underlying disease process. Keywords
