Abstract
The electromagnetic form factor of the pion is calculated in a pseudoscalar field theoretical model with constituent quarks. We extract the form factor using the “” and “” components of the electromagnetic current on the light front. For comparison, we also compute the form factor in the covariant framework. It is shown that the pair terms do not contribute to the “” component of the electromagnetic current; however, they affect the “” component of the electromagnetic current.
