Abstract
We report a case of hyponatremia associated with volume depletion after pituitary exploration and biopsy. The presence of clinical dehydration precluded diagnosis of the syndrome of inappropriate secretion of antidiuretic hormone. The absence of a hypoadrenal state and the patient's response to volume reexpansion were consistent with a diagnosis of primary cerebral salt wasting. Keywords
